Day nineteen. Leo and I did a grand tour of the métro, visiting the 3bis, the 7bis, and the station named for him: Léo Lagrange.

01-04jul2006 Normandy

A four-day trip to Normandy to see some D-Day stuff and visit friends.

30jun2006 Paris

Day fourteen. Ann and I went out to La Defense to look for plastic cows. We didn't find them so we settled for modern architecture and bad public art. Later, a quick walk through the new Musée du Quai Branly, and a really good dinner in the 6th.

Day twelve. Brief expedition in the morning to another segment of the Petite Ceinture, at Porte Balard. In the afternoon a nice walk from Gare d'Austerlitz across the Seine and up the Canal St. Martin.

Day eleven. The Champs de Mars Incident.

Day ten. Had a nice walk from Gare St. Lazare northwards.

Day eight. Spent most of the day at Versailles with nephew Felix and Pierre from flickr. In the evening, the flickr meetup had a goodbye party.

Day seven. I had a nice walk along part of the abandoned Petite Ceinture railroad, including a 1.3 km tunnel underneath Père Lachaise.

Day six. The flickr folks had a nice evening pique nique on the Pont des Arts.

Day five. The Fête de la Musique! I didn't stay out all night tho. In fact I barely stayed out until dark. Of course around here that is 11pm.

Day four. Did the catacombs in the morning, and in the evening a picnic on the steps of Sacré Coeur.

Day three. A visit to the Louvre in the morning. Then in the evening a tour of neon signs at Pigalle.

Day two. A visit to the Chateau de Vincennes and the Parc Floral.

Day one. First meet-up with the flickr folks, at Café Z.

Off to Paris for another visit.

Did the Angel Island perimeter road with Dawn, then some exploring in SF.

Had a nice afternoon ride through industrial Richmond.

The Berkeley Rose Garden is really popping right now.

03jun2006 Hercules

Had a nice long afternoon bike ride from Berkeley to Hercules and back. I was thinking I'd re-visit an old power plant that I shot in 2003, but when I got there I found it completely demolished. There was some nice-looking rubble though.
