This collection of scripts began as as interface to RCS for people who were used to SCCS. SCCS commands are things like "sccs edit", "sccs delget", and "sccs info". The equivalents of these in unadorned RCS would be "co -l", "ci -u", and none - you can't do the equivalent of an "sccs info" in RCS. So rather than remembering what flags to use and living without "sccs info", these scripts were born, and you can just do "rcsedit", "rcsdelget", and "rcsinfo".
