Temescal Creek at
Hardy

N 37.84204°, W 122.25774°

There's a fake creek starting here and running for a few blocks. Fake means most of the creek is still in a culvert underground, but some of the flow is diverted to the surface and runs in a sort of artificial creek bed. More like a landscaped gutter, really. This little pond at Hardy St. is where the water pops up to the surface, magically appearing from underneath that big rock.

You may wonder why there's no water in the picture. Well, the creek happened to be turned off for repairs the day I came by in 2001. As of 2002 it's back on again.

This is also the site of Frog Park, a volunteer-built playground built in fall 2001.
